Jaden let his hazel gaze roam the room, an occupational hazard he knew, and had a bit of
appreciation for her apartment. Jena had mentioned a roommate, but she must be out for the
night. The apartment they shared had a warm touch.
Not only did it appear decently decorated, they had put out some holiday decor. Several
Santas, elves, and snowmen, stood around the room — on the small entertainment center, on a shelf near the door, on the kitchen island –- an eclectic collection. White lights draped across the window, displaying multicolored ornaments across the glass. A slender tree was nestled into the corner of the room next to the TV, a dazzling display of reds, golds, and multicolored blinking lights. Jaden wondered if he owned any Christmas decorations. Maybe a trip to the store was needed? There was something to having the holiday spirit inside the house. Jena joined him on the couch and clicked on the TV. Then she let the remote drop as she took his hand in hers.
“How about we have pizza for dessert?” Her green eyes flashed with a heady intensity,
and before Jaden could form a thought, her body was pressing against his, her lips close to his own. “Is that Ok?” she asked, her voice husky, needing.
It was obvious what she wanted for dinner: him. Jaden didn’t answer and instead let his
lips slide over hers. That was the answer she wanted.
Jena didn’t know what came over her. Every time she was with Jaden, her body throbbed.
She wanted to be near him, touch him, have him touch her with those strong, slender fingers,
allow his intense brandy-hued gaze to swallow her whole. She had heard the phrase
uncontrollable her whole life, but only when she met Jaden did she understand what it meant.
The fear of being too aggressive, of chasing him away, helped temper her behavior, but tonight, with him here, she threw all that caution to the side.
