Here to promote her new box set - The Primal Series Books 1-3 is Monique Singleton!
1. Who is your favorite character from your newest release? And why? Kane, he's a macho bad boy who has a lot more depth than you would expect. I enjoy watching (writing) how he matures and grows in his destiny. He's a complex and colourful person.
2. How do you balance work and home life? With extreme difficultly. In addition to writing, I hold down another job and have a menagerie of animals. I've even taken a job far away so that I have to commute by train, giving me at least 4 hours a week that I am "forced" to write.
3. First Paranormal romance book you read? The Wolf's Hour. Robert R. McCammon. Not exactly a romance book, but there is some in there, if you look closely.
4. Do you Google yourself? If so did you laugh or find it interesting? Yes, every now and then, mostly for a laugh. It's also very interesting to see where my books are sold. I work through Smashwords for all smaller retailers and sometimes countries turn up that are very unexpected, or reviews that I had missed.
5. How do you select the names of your characters? A lot of my characters names are determined by the countries where they originate from. I google boy/girl names from those countries. I also often find names for specific characters in Wiki pages about gods and deities if they are relevant to the story. I prefer to use a name that has some meaning. If I really have no inspiration I will watch the acknowledgements at the end of a film and pick out names from there.
6. If you didn’t write, what would you do for work? I am currently employed part-time as a business consultant in addition to my writing. I enjoy that a lot. Another option would be anything creative.
7. What is your writing Kryptonite? Lack of time and all the additional work that is needed to get a book published. So the marketing, editing, promotions, formatting etc. This takes up so much time that I hardly get around to writing.
8. Who are you reading now? Seas of Crimson Silk by Emma Ham + all the books by Daniel Aren.
9. Do you have a special playlist for writing? No, not really. Music is a must, but which genre or artist depends on my mood.
10. Last, if you could go back before you published your first book and do it all over again, would you? All the hard parts and easy strides.
